Ms. N. Prathyusha, a student of the second year M.A. of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute
of Higher Learning, Anantapur Campus narrates her experience of the Divinity of
Bhagavan in her own words.
'It was the May 6th 2005. Being a Balvikas guru, I had organized a cultural programme
with my Balvikas students, for the Eswaramma Day celebrations. With the divine blessings
of Baba, the programme went on well. It was as late as 10 p.m. by the time we dispersed.
I was left alone with twenty little children. I was perturbed and did not know how
to ensure that they reached their homes safely at that late hour of the night. My
own house was very far from the Community Hall.
After some deliberation, I sent some of the older children, belonging to a particular
colony, in one auto-rickshaw. Since there was no place in our auto-rickshaw, I had
given the costumes and jewellery bags to them. Boarding another auto-rickshaw with
the remaining kids, I left for home. I had to drop each one individually at their
homes. By the time I reached home, it was nearly 11 p.m. I soon dropped off to sleep.
At about midnight, there was a knock on the door. To my utter surprise, I found
a man in an auto-driver's khaki dress standing at my door step. He asked me if I
was connected with the Balvikas function held at the Community Hall. When I replied
in the affirmative, he handed over to me the seven bags filled with costumes and
jewellery worth Rs. 60,000, which my students, in their hurry to reach their homes,
had left behind in the auto-rickshaw. The auto-driver demanded Rs. 15 for the extra
trip. Too tired to think or enquire, I gave the money to him, and went back to sleep.
I did not realize then that he was a stranger to me, and it was highly impossible
for him to know my address.
The next morning, my mother woke me up saying that she had found a photograph of
Bhagavan at our doorstep. Rousing myself from sleep, I tried to recollect the previous
night's incident, and connect it to the present. Meanwhile, I received a phone call
from one of my students, regretfully informing me that the bags had been forgotten
in the auto-rickshaw. I asked them about the route they had taken, and discovered
that they had not even touched the corner of my street. I ran down to the watchmen,
and asked him if anybody had come the previous night, searching for our house. He
said that nobody had come, and that he was very sure of it. Further, I realized
that the auto-rickshaw fare from the Community Hall to my house is normally above
Rs. 50 and this auto-driver had taken only Rs. 15 from me. It seemed to me that
Bhagavan had taken that money to clear off some debt of mine, as the Lord of Shirdi
used to do with his devotees. I was very sure that my beloved Bhagavan had saved
me from the awkward situation which I would have faced had I lost sixty thousand
rupees worth of costumes and jewellery.
I realized that it was a leela of our beloved Lord.'
