Mrs. V. Latitamma (62), a housewife, narrates her experiences of the Divinity of
Bhagavan in her own words.
'I lost my husband when I was 35. I am having a son and three daughters whom I had
to bring up with my own effort.
With the encouragement of some of my acquaintances, I came to Prasanthi Nilayam
for Gurupurnima in 1992. That was my first visit. Swami came along the Darshan line.
On seeing Bhagavan, I prayed, 'Swami! I am a helpless widow. I do not know how many
doorsteps I will have to cross before I can get my three daughters married. You
are my only hope and support'. After that, we all returned to Guntur.
One day after my return, my neighbour came to me and said, 'you know my son. If
you are willing, I want to take your daughter as my daughter-in-law'. We were all
happy and the wedding was celebrated by Swami's grace in a fitting manner.
After sometime a customer, frequently coming to the shop of my son-in-law, asked
him, 'who are the girls that come and work here now and then?'
'My sisters-in-law.'
'Say so', the customer remarked, 'there is a good alliance here in this town, if
you care to look at it'.
One day, the customer brought to our house the would-be-father-in-law of my second
daughter. By Swami's grace, that alliance was settled and the marriage was celebrated
in a fitting manner.
My second son-in-law brought an alliance to my third daughter, and her marriage
also was performed in a fitting manner by Swami's grace.
Thus Bhagavan saw to it that I had crossed no doorstep to perform the marriage of
any of my daughters, and sent good alliances for them. Not only that! On the suggestion
of my relatives, I decided to go over to Prasanthi Nilayam and settle here. That
I think is the crowing feature of His grace!
One day, I took my aunt to the Verandah and seated her on a chair. I was also sitting
there, as it was Darshan time. One lady came and asked me, 'my head is reeling.
I must go to bathroom'. She did not say this pleading, but demanding. She said the
same words twice in the same tenor. I took her into the room. She was leading for
the kitchen.
'The bathroom is the other one.' I told her, 'that is kitchen'.
She immediately went towards the bathroom. She moved into it like a fierce wind.
I did not feel that a woman was walking.
I came out, shut the door and sat near my aunt. Even after half-an-hour, she did
not come out. If she came out, she must go out only in full view of us. There is
no other way. I went to see what she was doing. The main door as well as the door
of the bathroom were wide open. There was no trace of her. I went and looked into
the bathroom. It was dry. No sign of any one having used it at all!
Who was she? Where did she come from? How did she go out? Why did she not use the
bathroom when she came in such a hurry for it? One of our people said, 'Swami might
have come like her to test you if you are helpful or not'. I don't know'
