Mrs. C.Lalitha (70) is a housewife hailing from a rich landlord family married into
another landlord family. She helped her husband to discharge his responsibilities
as the eldest son and, with his cooperation, helped both the families - the family
of her in-laws and that of her parents to tide over crisis after crisis. She describes
here how Bhagavan rescued her from serious consequences of an accident.
'I am the eldest issue to my parents. My husband also is the eldest to his parents.
Thus we had to attend to responsibilities of both the families. By God's grace,
we could discharge our responsibilities to the satisfaction of all our family members
and could settle down for a peaceful life in the spiritual environment of Gokulam.
In 2003, my second son invited us to his house in Bangalore city for Deepavali.
When we went there, he had fever. By the evening, it shot up. My son's-in-laws are
also devotees of Bhagavan. We put some vibhuti on his forehead. Luckily my daughter-in-law
who would be always on the move owing to her official as well as service activities
was there in the house that day. She knew driving. So she took him to a hospital
and got him admitted. There it was discovered that he was suffering from a rare
and dangerous type of pneumonia. Luckily, he could get proper medical attention
in time, which helped him recover.
After about a month, we all went together to Tirumala after the recovery of our
son from the serious ailment. When our people were shopping, my son's mother-in-law
and I were chatting in a corner. At that time the temple authorities had raised
some scaffolding there. As monkeys were playing on the scaffold, one of the rods
got loosened and fell on my head and also on my shoulders. I fell unconscious. My
relative immediately applied Swami's vibhuti on my forehead and began calling for
help. Though some crowd gathered around, none of them could be of any help. Just
at that time, a well-built person, wearing dhoti with zari border, came, lifted
me up in his hands, took me to an ambulance and made me lie down in it. No knowing
how an ambulance came to be parked there at that moment. When my people came and
wanted to thank him for the help, he was not to be seen.
I was taken to the Ruia Hospital at Tirupati of the TTD and was given free medical
attention by the Temple authorities. I had a fracture of my shoulder bone. More
serious than that was my head injury. I was facing the danger of losing the sight
of my right eye, besides running the risk of going into coma due to a blood clot
in the brain due to that injury.
After initial treatment at Tirupati, my sons wanted to move me to Bangalore as there
is Neurology Department in the Sri Sathya Sai Super Specialities Hospital, Whitefields.
But the Authorities there did not agree to admit me being involved in an accident.
My son Pradeep and my daughter-in-law, and other members of my family are all devotees
of Swami. All of them naturally were praying to Bhagavan. By Bhagavan's grace, the
same Hospital Authorities agreed to reconsider and admit me. And they did so even
when it was past midnight, which was very unusual there.
By Swami's grace, I did not lose my eyesight. The clot in the brain also got dissolved
gradually. My shoulder fracture also got healed. I am able to attend to my normal
work without any difficulty including seva activities.
Though this incident made me experience physical discomfort and pain, the whole
treatment both at Tirupati and at the SSSIHMS, Whitefields, Bangalore made me experience
the 'treatment of love' with absolutely no financial implication at all, which is
a gift of the Divine to me. When I wrote a thanking letter to Swami, He so benignly
stopped in front of me and took it with a smile.'
