Mr. V.G.K.Murthy, a devotee of Bhagavan, relates
a few of his experiences of the Divinity of Bhagavan in his own wards.
'In 1994, I wanted to go on leave travel concession to visit some centres of pilgrimage
such as Kanyakumari, Rameswaram. But my children were not willing to join because
of their study schedule.
'It's all right' I said somewhat deflated in my enthusiasm, 'I will go alone to
Puttaparthi and return.' I don't know why I said so. I had not gone to Puttaparthi
earlier. Next morning, my eldest daughter came to me. 'Dad' she said, 'I will also
come. We can spend a week.'
One by one, others in the family including my wife, agreed to join in the pilgrimage
spree. My old plan was taken up again. We went to Kanyakumari, Rameswaram, Madhurai,
Tirupati and arrived at Bangalore.
'How to go to Puttaparthi?' I asked someone.
'First check up if Bhagavan is there' he replied, 'why go all the way to that place
if He is not there?'
'Doesn't matter' I replied, 'we want to go and see the place.' We boarded the train.
I was praying to Swami 'I don't know the route to or the place. You alone have to
guide me.'
When we got down at Dharmavaram, we ran into a gentleman from Hyderabad going to
Puttaparthi to join seva there. He turned into our guide I prayed for. 'Take your
bath here' he advised, showing us the neat bath room at Dharmavaram railway station,
'you will save time and can go for darshan straight.' He was of so much help to
us that we thought that he was sent by Swami in answer to our prayers.
We were delighted to know that Swami had just returned to Prasanthi Nilayam. We
had excellent darshan, and happily returned to Raipur.
From then onwards, I have been coming to Puttaparthi off and on, a few times for
seva also. In 2004, I prayed to Swami in my mind at darshan time. 'Swami, I am vexed
with the official routine' I prayed to Him, 'I badly need relief'. By the time I
returned there was a circular. It related to voluntary retirement.
'But it may not help you' one of my colleagues told me, 'they agree to relieve only
some good-for-nothing employees, but not persons like you'. I was crestfallen. 'Is
working sincerely also a disadvantage?' I prayed to Swami in my mind, 'You alone
can help'.
I applied and miraculously I received orders relieving me. I got full salary for
the remaining period of my service. And, I was the first as well as the last to
be so relieved at our place in my Department.'
