Mr. V. Anjaneyulu (47), an employee of the BSNL (OFC Maintenance Wing), relates a
few of his experiences of the Divinity of Bhagavan in his own words.
‘Though I was a devotee of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba since 1989, I could visit
Prasanthi Nilayam only in 1992. We went there to enable our daughter write entrance
for admission in Sri Sathya Sai Primary School. That was our first visit to Prasanthi
Nilayam. Then we had Darshan of Bhagavan for the first time. In 1999, we went to
Prasanthi Nilayam again to enable my son to take entrance exam for admission into
Swami’s School.
In 2000, my wife, Mrs. Sujatha developed numbness in her right leg. Soon the pain
went up to her knee. She could not walk due to non-movement of ligaments. Pain started
in her left leg also. Doctors diagnosed after careful examination as lumbar spondylosys
L4, that is, disc prolapsed condition. Doctors advised MRI scan. After trying several
treatments including traction, she was taken to Sri Sathya Sai Super Specialties
Hospital at Puttaparthi.
An Orthopaedic there examined her but did not insist either on MRI scan or any other
test. He gave no medicines. Instead he taught her a few exercises. ‘Have Darshan
of Bhagavan and do these exercises’, the doctor told her, ‘no need for MRI scan
or any medicine.’ I was surprised. She did as directed. After staying at Prasanthi
Nilayam for 4 or 5 days, we returned to our place. By the grace of Bhagavan, she
became all right without any medicine. We thought that Bhagavan spoke through that
Orthopaedic, and healed my wife without medicine or surgery.
My father-in-law, Mr. Venkata Ramulu, a devotee of Bhagavan was with us for sometime.
At that time I was at Jadcherla. He wanted to go to Narayanapeta. We told him not
to undertake such long journey alone. But he left unheeding our advice. While on
his way, he had severe heart attack in the bus and got down at Mahabubnagar. He
was praying to Bhagavan being His devotee. In those days a new medicine came into
market, namely, kinomycin. They gave him two injections of it as first aid.
Advised angiogram, he was taken to Hyderabad. He was kept in a hospital there for
about a month. They were advising cardiac surgery. Finally, he was brought to Puttaparthi.
He had Darshan of Bhagavan and went to the hospital. After doing various tests,
the doctors advised him to continue the medicines. ‘There is no need for surgery’,
the doctors told him, ‘you can pull on well on medication’. We were all very happy.
In fact, I was praying to Bhagavan intensely to save his life. He did not undergo
any surgery. He has been all right ever since, owing to Swami’s grace.’
