Mr. P. Satyanarayana (74), who retired as a
Senior Manager in the SBI, relates a few of his experiences of the Divinity of Bhagavan
in his own words.
'When I was working at Bapatla in 1968, I used to hear about Bhagavan. Once, a special
bus was going to Prasanthi Nilayam in 1969. I came in that bus to Prasanthi Nilayam
for the first time, and had darshan of Bhagavan for the first time. I was blessed
with padanamaskar also.
In 1970 we stated bhajan in a Siva temple at Bapatla. It has later grown into a
very active Samithi.
My daughter, Mrs. Kusuma Kumari had no children for a long time. She came to Prasanthi
Nilayam and poured out her grief to one of the ladies as she sat in the darshan
line. After her return, she was blessed to be in the family way. One day before
delivery, Bhagavan appeared in her dream. 'You will have a son' He said, 'name him
Gopi.' Next day she delivered a son who was christened Gopinath.
My second daughter, Mrs. Kuchala Kumari also had no issues. She came to Prasanthi
Nilayam and prayed to Bhagavan in her mind. On return, she was in the family way
in a few weeks. She delivered a son.
We brought him to Prasanthi Nilayam for Annaprasana. 'There is no chance' all those
whom we contacted told us, 'Swami has no time to do all such things now.'
We sat in darshan line with a cup of payasam and a tray of akshatas, etc. Bhagavan
came straight to us, sprinkled akshatas on the child and put payasam in his mouth.
He walked to the end of the line and turned back. He gazed at us and came back straight
to us. He materialized vibhuti profusely, rubbed it all over the body and head of
my grandson, and left.
In 1994, we wanted to construct a temple of Venkateswara in our colony at Hyderabad,
and consulted a learned gentleman. One day that gentleman phoned to me in my dream
and asked 'when can I come?' I replied in the dream 'wait, wait.' The work on the
temple rested there waiting indefinitely. Meanwhile, I shifted to Bapatla where
I was made convenor of Sri Sathya Sai Samithi. There was a proposal to construct
Sri Sathya Sai Mandir there. We went with plans to Bhagavan who approved them. The
mandir was completed. We went again to Brindavan in 1996 with a photograph of the
mandir. Bhagavan blessed it. I had wanted to raise Balaji mandir at Hyderabad but
Bhagavan shifted me to Bapatla for good only to make me one of His instruments to
construct Sri Sathya Sai Mandir there instead.'
