Mr. P. Lakshmana Rao, a teacher,
relates his experience of the Divinity of Bhagavan in his own words.
'This happened around 1990. I was working as a teacher in Jublinagar then. My co-teacher,
Mr. M. Lacchayya is a devotee of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai. He used to tell me about
Bhagavan and gave me some books on Him to read. Thus I developed curiosity to know
about Bhagavan though I did not become a devotee at that time.
One day I was taking my son to a tailor to get his school uniform stitched. I was
driving the scooter and my son was the pillion rider. As we were passing through
a busy locality, I noticed that the brake-wire suddenly gave way. That meant that
the brake had failed. I was going at good speed. It was time for school children
to come out of schools. We were nearing a busy traffic centre. There were no signal
lights even. I told my son about the frightful situation we were in, and began to
pray to Bhagavan.
Then suddenly someone caught hold of my scooter from behind and brought it to a
halt and whispered in my ear 'get down'. I looked around. There was none, but the
scooter was standing without any movement. We got down at once and pushed it to
a side safely.
Who was it that had held our scooter and stopped it? It was not humanly possible.
Had He not stopped our scooter what would have happened if we had butted into the
traffic flowing speedily across? It is terrible even to think about it. Needless
to say that, from then onwards, I have become a staunch devotee of Bhagavan.'
