Mr. M. Panduranga Rao (70), who retired as an
executive in the APSEB, relates a few of his experiences of the Divinity of Bhagavan
in his own words.
'In 1980, I was working at Nellore. My neighbour was a devotee of Bhagavan. I heard
about Bhagavan from him. One day I wanted to go to Bapatla. At the bus stand, I
saw a bus going to Anantapur. Without thinking, I got into it. From Anantapur I
went to Puttaparthi. As I got down the bus, one gentleman came to me. 'You seem
to be coming here for the first time' he said, 'you come and stay with me in the
shed.' He showed me the bathrooms, the canteen, mandir and other places. I was wondering
where to stay when I had landed. But, Swami took care of me well. I wanted to get
back after darshan.
'Tomorrow is Krishnashtami' my new contact told me, 'better stay and leave afterwards'.
'I have no leave' I said. 'Swami will take care' he replied. I stayed on and had
darshan of Bhagavan and listened to His Divine Discourse. When I went back to office,
my boss remarked 'you have been to Puttaparthi, isn't it?' I thought so.' He did
not say anything about leave, etc, owing to Bhagavan's grace.
My daughter Madhavi became a student of Bhagavan. She passed M.Sc and was selected
for the post of an officer in Central Excise. But inexplicably I had a hunch against
it and I did not allow her to join. After six months, she received another letter,
asking her to join in Central Excise. She did not go. All my friends and relations
said that it was foolish on our part to forego the job. Our samithi people invited
Sri Komaragiri Krishnamohana Rao to address us. In that meeting, my daughter was
asked to deliver vote of thanks. Mr. Krishnamohana Rao asked 'who is that girl?'
Later, on the advice of our well wishers, we mooted a proposal with him offering
my daughter to his son. 'Your daughter is all right in every aspect' Mr. Rao said,
'but we want a housewife for my son, not an employed girl.' Then I realised how
Swami's grace made me stop her from accepting the lucrative job in the Central Excise
Department. As we agreed to his condition, the alliance was settled.
Bhagavan blessed the alliance and materialized mangalasutras for the bride. He sent
new clothes to the couple. After the marriage, we all came to Prasanthi Nilayam.
Bhagavan halted before my daughter and blessed her. He came to the gents' side and
blessed my son-in-law and us all. This was in 1995. Many people came to the wedding
only to have a look at the mangalasutras given by Bhagavan. Sprinkling akshatas
on the bride, on the ladies' side, Bhagavan said 'come back with your son!' In 2003,
true to Bhagavan's word, my daughter came to Prasanthi Nilayam with her son.
We all proposed to raise a mandir at Bapatla. We got plans prepared and came to
Prasanthi Nilayam with the plan. Bhagavan blessed the plan during darshan. The mandir
has come up well.'
