Mr. M.N.Gopi (52), a social worker, relates a few of his experiences of the Divinity
of Bhagavan in his own words.
'I heard about Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba for the first time from my neighbours
in 1996. By that time, I was a devotee of Shiridi Sai.
In the same year, I recited Shiridi Sai Saccharitra for seven days. After that we
did some usual pooja. Immediately there was a fine fragrance of Vibhuti enveloping
the whole house for five minutes. My wife and children also experienced the fragrance.
That year we came to Prasanthi Nilayam. It was our first visit to this place. We
had darshan of Bhagavan for the first time. My son, Mr. Arya who accompanied me,
was blessed by Bhagavan with padanamaskar.
After that I came for darshan for Onam festival. Later, I came for seva in 2000,
2001, and also in 2002. I came with family for Sivarathri in 2003 and had the good
fortune of witnessing the Lingodbhava
Earlier, my son, Mr. Arya came here for Vishu festival and had darshan of Bhagavan.
In 2004 we all came again for the Birthday Celebration of Bhagavan, to Prasanthi
Nilayam and had darshan.
In 2005, I began constructing a house in our place. We made all arrangements for
laying the slab of RCC and engaged workers. Then it began to rain. I prayed to Bhagavan
incessantly as lot of money was involved and I could not afford that again. Though
the rain continued for the next twenty-four hours, there was not even a drop on
the site of our construction. All around, it rained heavily. All my friends who
knew about my engaging workers for the slab-laying felt sympathy for me and made
sympathetic enquiries about the work. When I told them that the work was done satisfactorily,
they were all surprised. 'How could they do it in rain?' they asked. 'It did not
rain at our place owing to Swami's grace', I replied.'
