Mr. A. Changal Rao (61), a retired teacher, narrates his experiences of the Divinity
of Bhagavan in his own words.
'Many devotees in my place used to tell me about Swami, but I did not take it seriously.
However, I used to attend bhajans. Once I went to Puttaparthi due to the pressure
of my wife who is a devotee, and had Darshan of Swami. We bought a Photograph of
Swami and put it in our house.
One astrologer told me that I have to perform Sri Satyanarayana Swami Vratam thrice.
If I did so, the marriage of my daughter would be consummated. So we performed the
vratam in 1998, placing the altar under the Photograph of Swami hanging on the wall.
As soon as the first vratam was over, an alliance came to my daughter. By the time
of the second vratam, talks moved to near-completion. On the day of performance
of the third vratam, we put a garland to the Photograph of Swami before commencing
the vratam. Soon after the completion of the vratam, we had the engagement for the
wedding performed. Exactly at that time, the garland on the Photograph of Swami
fell on the altar. Many elders, who were invited for the vratam, saw this and began
to say excitedly, 'Swami has come!' Needless to add that the marriage of my daughter
went off as planned!
Originally we belonged to a village called Pulikallu in Chittoor District. There
is a resident there called Mr. P. Ranganna. He has a daughter named Leelavati. That
girl was suffering from epilepsy. They went to Swami. When Darshan began, the girl
had fits. Sevadal began to carry her out forcibly. Swami stopped them and asked
them to bring her to Him. He materialized vibhuti and gave it to her. Her health
improved, and she got married also.
One day she went into a trance when vibhuti came into her hands. It filled the entire
house with perfume. Her in-laws were frightened, and sent her to her father's house.
Mr. Ranganna told me about this and asked me to come and see the girl, and advise
him about the future course of action. I went there along with my mother. The girl
behaved normally. But suddenly she went into a trance and brought both her hands
together as if she was doing namaskar to someone. When she unfolded her hands, there
was vibhuti in sizable quantity filling the whole house with perfume. I witnessed
this leela of Bhagavan along with many others. By the grace of Swami, her in-laws
realized that her daughter-in-law is a great devotee of Bhagavan who has blessed
her with miraculous power. They took her back to their place. She is happy and has
been blessed with children.'
