Ms. Vinaina, a student of the third year B.Com. (Hons) of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute
of Higher Learning, Anantapur Campus narrates a few of her experiences of the Divinity
of Bhagavan in her own words.
'Hearing about Swami's glory though a friend was enough to motivate my parents to
develop an urge to see Him. In the summer of 1990, my parents sat for darshan in
the Sai Ramesh Hall at Brindavan. A soft, lilting music was played. Suddenly, the
crowd became restless. Within a few minutes, a radiant figure, dressed in orange,
was seen moving gracefully in the crowd, captivating each and every heart. My parents
shed tears of joy at the very first sight of that charming figure.
Swami then moved forward gently, took a handful of toffees proffered to Him by a
devotee. He threw them at the excited crowd. Many people leapt from their seats
to catch the sweets, but only a few could get them. This happened on the gents'
side, and my mother, on the ladies' side, was curious to know whether my father
was lucky enough to get any toffees. Back in the lodge where we were staying, my
mother was disheartened to know that my father had not got any toffee. She repeatedly
requested my father to make effort like the others the next time. He simply nodded
for my mother's satisfaction.
Next day, during darshan, Swami again threw toffees where my father was sitting.
This time, one toffee landed on my father's lap. He was extremely happy. When my
mother came to know about it, she was in the seventh heaven. They both decided to
preserve this token of blessing. On their return journey, they heard about Swami's
school in Delhi, from a co-passenger. In two weeks, I found myself shifted from
the Delhi Public School to Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar. After two days in the new
environment, I started feeling terribly homesick. At the same time, at home, Swami
was unfolding His divine plan. The day I entered the portals of Swami's school,
my father developed a terrible stomach ache. He was rushed to the hospital immediately,
wherein a kidney stone was detected, and he was immediately admitted for a surgery.
Just two days before the surgery, my father remembered about the precious toffee.
My mother mixed it in a cup of tea and gave it to him. After fifteen minutes, when
the doctor x-rayed my father, to his utter surprise, he found that the stone had
dissolved!'
