Ms. R. Savitha, a student of the First Year B.Sc. (Hons) of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute
of Higher Learning, Anantapur Campus narrates an experience of the Divinity of Bhagavan
in her own words.
'My grandpa was a stout, healthy man. When he was 78 years old, he had mild heart
attack. He was admitted to the Apollo Hospital. I was then in my 8th Standard. One
Dr. Ramachandran attended on my grandfather. All the tests were done. When the ECG
/ EEG was taken, it showed three major blocks in the heart, and a few blocks in
the brain also. It was a very critical case. He could not be operated upon because
of his age. So the doctor prescribed a few tables, and discharged him. Fifteen days
later, he collapsed again and was taken to the hospital. As a little girl, I could
do nothing. So, I prayed.
My grandma was a very courageous lady and believed that her husband would survive.
My grandpa too chanted Sai Gayathri regularly. Since he showed improvement, the
doctors discharged him. He was asked to go for a check-up after three months. They
gave him a lot of tablets. My Balvikas teacher gave me Swami's vibhuti. My grandma
gave him vibhuti in water everyday. My grandpa was also confident that Sai would
heal him.
After three months, my grandpa went to the hospital. Dr. Ramachandran told him that
a pacemaker could be provided as open-heart surgery could not be done. Everything
was ready but the operation was cancelled due to some technical problems. This happened
twice. Finally, Dr. Ramachandran told us that they would do an angiogram to ascertain
the position. Accordingly, my grandpa was taken to the operation theatre. After
a few hours, Dr. Ramachandran came out exclaiming 'it is a medical miracle. There
are no clots in the heart and the brain!' The doctor had seen my grandma always
reading Swami's books. So he said 'amma, your Baba has saved your husband. He is
perfectly all right. There is no need for any pacemaker.' My grandma burst into
tears of joy. My grandpa is hale and healthy even today. And, this is not due to
medicines but due to Swami's blessings. It is obvious that when faith and confidence
coincide, a miracle occurs. Bhagavan has given the gift of life to my grandpa.'
