Anantapur Campus.
Ms. Lavanya Natarajan, a student of the first year B.Sc. (Hons) of the Sri Sathya
Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Anantapur Campus narrates her experience of the
Divinity of Bhagavan in her own words.
'It happened in the year 1997, when we were living in Tanzania, East Africa. It
was raining very heavily. My father was driving very fast to be on time to attend
a special bhajan. He saw a huge lorry in front of his car. He knew that if he did
not slow down, he would dash into the lorry. But, suddenly, the brakes of his car
failed. My father didn't know what to do. He just let go of the steering wheel,
folded his palms, closed his eyes and said 'Sairam!' Instantly, he felt a jerk,
and the car stopped.
An African whose car was behind ours tapped at the window of our car, and asked
my father: 'Oh God! Did you see that person? He stopped your car with one hand.
What a strong man! Who is He?' As my father had closed his eyes, he was not aware
of what had happened. My father told that man that he did not know who the other
man was. Then, the African said 'that man was wearing an orange robe.' Seeing Swami's
picture in the car, the man said 'yes, it is the same person! He is the one who
stopped your car. Who is He?' My father replied 'He is my Guru,' and drove off with
a prayer of gratitude in his heart.'
