Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning,
Anantapur Campus.
Ms. Geetanjali Rathore, a student of the third year B.A. of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute
of Higher Learning, Anantapur Campus narrates a few of her experiences of the Divinity
of Bhagavan in her own words.
'I remember the great crisis that our family underwent some years back. My elder
sister, a 19-year-old girl at that time, was suddenly paralysed below her knees.
My father was at Prasanthi Nilayam, doing seva, unaware of the developments at home.
My mother had to confront the situation alone. We were shattered to see our sister
in such a pathetic condition. My father was informed. But he was determined to finish
his duty and then return home. People around constantly reproached my father for
leaving his daughter in such a deplorable state, to do Bhagavan's work. My mother
was exasperated. So, when my father called up home, she insisted on his return,
explaining to him the situation. But, my sister snatched the receiver from her and
assured him that she had complete faith in Swami, and that my father need not panic
and rush back.
Days passed. One day, during the evening harati at Puttaparthi, my father felt a
sudden wave of happiness in him which he couldn't comprehend. With a strange sense
of lightness in his heart, he called up home to enquire after my sister's health.
When the phone rang, my sister most casually rose from her bed and walked to the
phone. It took some time for all of us to resister the incredible miracle. We rushed
to the hospital. The doctor was dumbstruck to see such a miracle before his eyes.
Puzzled, he peppered my mother with questions. But nobody had any explanation for
what had happened. It is many years now, and my sister leads a perfectly normal
life.
After many years of marriage, my sister still longed to hold her 'bundle of joy'.
My mother performed various rituals for her, and when I joined the Institute, I
started chanting the Sai Gayathri and reading Tapovanam devoutly for her welfare.
On November 13, 2003, Swami appeared in my dream and said 'your sister sits in the
dark room where the TV is kept, and cries. Tell her not to do so.' He then created
vibhuti and gave it to me. Exactly one year later, my niece was born!
Prayers worked yet again when my friend suddenly developed a strange gynaecological
problem and became terribly ill. I once again resorted to Sai Gayathri and Tapovanam.
With my previous experience, I was sure that she would be all right and told her
so. Before she left for an operation, she wrote a letter to Swami and requested
a teacher to somehow pass it to Him. The teacher explained that under the existing
conditions the chances were bleak, but she'd surely try. Strangely enough, in the
darshan line, when Swami's car came near the teacher, Swami extended His hand and
asked for the letter. While accepting the letter, He muttered 'all right.' Exactly
on that day, my friend, back at home, got operated, and she is now perfectly all
right.'
