Ms. Damini (12), a young girl, relates a few of her experiences of the Divinity of
Bhagavan in her own words.
'My parents were planning to go to Prasanthi Nilayam, on Parthiyatra, and I too
wanted to go. But they wanted me to stay in the house. I felt disappointed. It was
about three weeks ago.
I was alone on June 9, Thursday in the house as my parents and grandmother went
out. I brought a pot full of drinking water at about 6:30 p.m. On my return I found
two persons entering into our house.
'Where has your mother gone?' - One of them asked me.
'To work' I replied.
'Get a chair', one of them told me, 'we are Tulasi and Srinarayan, relatives of
your grandma.'
When they were in the room, I brought a chair. 'No, not this one', the elderly gentleman
said, 'get the chair in the pooja room'. We are a lower middle-class family. My
parents set apart a small room for pooja. Large photographs are placed in it. We
also keep a chair for Bhagavan in it. We do not use it for any other person.
I went to fetch the chair from the pooja room. We have a small pair of padukas in
the pooja. But they were found to be of the size of the person who asked for the
chair in the pooja room. I thought that my parents had brought a new pair of larger
size of padukas.
I brought the chair from the pooja room. I was afraid that mom would be cross for
doing so, but I could not disobey him.
The elderly gentleman sat on the chair. He gave me a packet of vibhuti as he was
sitting on it and said, 'give this to your parents.'
'I will switch on the air cooler', I said.
He nodded in assent. I turned to switch on the air cooler, and when I turned back,
the room was empty. I ran outside. There was none. I ran into the street; they were
not there. A few persons were chatting at a shop near our house. I went there.
'Have you seen two persons going this side?'
'No', they said.
I told them about the strangers.
When I came back, I saw lights glowing in the room where they sat and in the pooja
room. I went to switch off the lights, but the switches were all in off position.
When I went into the pooja room, there was no pair of large-size padukas, only the
small-size we have always had. What happened to the large-sized pair? I came into
the room where I put the chair from the pooja room. We keep a new cloth in pooja.
At the time of bhajan, it is spread on the chair kept exclusively for Bhagavan.
At other times, we fold it and keep on one side in the pooja altar. I brought only
the chair, but did not touch the new cloth. But now it was found spread on the chair
on which one of them sat before disappearing. From that I concluded that the person
who had sat on the chair was Bhagavan and none else. When I told about what had
happened, the whole village was in our house to see the chair on which the cloth
was found spread.
After my parents returned, I told them what had happened and gave them the vibhuti
given by the person who sat on the chair. My parents then decided to bring me also
to Prasnthi Nilayam along with them. Therefore, I could come here and have Darshan
of Bhagavan owing to His leela shown in our house.'
