Mrs. Vasavi (26), a housewife, relates a few
of her experiences of the Divinity of Bhagavan in her own words.
'My parents are devotees of Swami. So I became a devotee as I was brought up in
Sai environment.
We used to be at Palwancha as my father worked in the Thermal Power Station there.
We used to do akhanda-bhajan for Sivarathri every year in our house. In 1995, we
went to Hyderabad for Sivarathri. When we returned to Palwancha, our neighbours
told us that akhanda-bhajan was heard from our house the whole night on Sivarathri
day.
'We locked the house and went to Hyderabad' we replied, 'how could it be?' Then
we realized that it was the Divine leela.
I used to get dreams often. Swami used to appear in them. I used to do Omkar along
with my father every day at 5 a.m. regularly. I observed that he could do Omkar
for longer time than me. One night Bhagavan appeared in my dream. 'Do Omkar' He
asked me. I did. 'How long can you do?' He asked. 'I can do for a pretty long time'
I replied. 'Shall I do?' Bhagavan asked and started doing. It was unending. I was
stunned. Then Swami said 'your attention is more on time than on Omkar, while doing
Omkar. Concentrate on Aum.' The dream ended.
When we returned from Hyderabad after Sivarathri in 1995, I had a dream. My mother,
our uncle Mr. Sekhar and I were singing bhajans. My mother was singing a song on
Lord Siva. The dream ended. In the morning, we noticed a black Siva linga on Swami's
chair.
Later, Mr. N.B.S. Rama Rao who delivers lectures on Sri Sathya Sai visited our house.
He presented a silver Nagabharanam to be used for the linga. We got a panavattam
made.
One day my father completed his pooja, gave arati and came out of pooja room when
a telegram arrived. It was given by Mr. R.K. Sastry Known to us. We attended akhanda-bhajan
in his house at Hyderabad for Sivarathri. The telegram simply read 'Sri Sathya Sai
Iswara Paripoorna Kataksha Labdha Vibhava Vaibhava Lingam - Sai Ram'. Nothing else!
We assumed that Swami named the linga through Mr. Sastry.'
