Mrs. Saraswathi (68) is presently a resident of the Bharathi Vruddhashram, Puttaparthi. She narrates her experiences of the Divinity of Bhagavan in her own words.

'Originally I belonged to Vijayawada. Our house-owner there was a doctor. They had many photographs of various deities in their pooja. One day I was cleaning them, and audibly murmured that they were keeping photographs of all sorts of people. The wife of the owner heard me and said 'don't say like that. The photograph you are now cleaning is that of Sri Satya Sai Baba, God walking on earth.' I repented and made namaskar to Baba. That is how I heard about Bhagavan for the first time.

When I had no place to go and no income to fall back upon, some people advised me to go to Puttaparthi. 'God is there in person' they told me, 'He will take care of you.' As such, thirteen years ago, I came here without a pie with me. I had no place to go, no one to take care of me. I slept near a local choultry and remained without food for three days. I began weeping unable to withstand hunger. Then I dozed off and had a dream. One person came with vibhuti smeared all over, and looked into my eyes. He had lot of hair on his head.

'I don't know who you are' I said, 'but I think you are Siva because you have vibhuti all over. Pray protect me'.

He blessed me and disappeared. I felt invigorated and my weakness and hunger left me. In the evening Mrs. Subba Rao, wife of Mr. Subba Rao, who used to do business in photographs, gave me some food taking pity on me. They maintained me for some time. I used to do seva here and there. Finally I got admission here.

I believe it is Swami who came to me in my dream with vibuti all over and blessed me. From that moment, my life took a new turn. I have had no cause to worry from that day onwards.'
