Mrs. M. Lakshmi Devi (61), a housewife, relates her experiences of the Divinity of
Bhagavan in her own words.
'I came to Prasanthi Nilayam around 1980 for the first time when I had Darshan of
Bhagavan. At that time we were residing in Machilipatnam.
I used to suffer from back-pain since I was 20 years of age. I underwent several
tests. Doctors advised surgery. I was using a magnetic belt. Though I toyed with
the idea of undergoing surgery, but somehow it was being postponed.
One day in 1982-83, I think, I was asleep in the afternoon. I had a dream in which
Swami appeared. He asked me in the dream to lie down with my back upwards. He made
an incision on my back in the shape of a cross (+mark) and lifted up the flaps of
skin, and did some surgery there. Even though I was lying face down, I could see
the exposed bones, etc. Then Swami closed the point of incision and disappeared.
I woke up and told my mother, 'Swami performed surgery. I am sure I am cured of
my ailment'. My back-pain abated gradually, and it no longer bothers me.
My second son Vivek Varma turned diabetic at a tender age of one year and a half.
He had to be given insulin daily. When Vivek was about 8 years old, one of my colleagues
in nagarsankeerthan had a dream. She told me, 'Swami appeared in my dream. He said,
'let the boy write a letter to me'. So we made Vivek write a letter. 'Save me Baba'
he wrote, and wrote his name under that.
Later we went for seva to Prasanthi Nilayam. Swami used to give padanamaskar to
those that participated in seva those days. He came to me and took the letter. I
said, 'Swami, my son Vivek is a diabetic'. Swami said, 'I know, I know'. He materialised
vibhuti and gave it to me. 'Give to him', He said. The vibhuti had some medicinal
smell. After 15 days, when my husband, Mr. M. Krishnam Raju sat in the Darshan line,
Swami came and began walking along the line. 'What are you doing?' Swami asked my
husband.
'My son, Vivekā¦.', my husband began. 'I know', Swami told him, 'I gave vibhiti also.
Give it. Let him observe diet control'. When my husband told me about it, I was
amazed. Swami is truly omniscient. If not, how could He link my husband to me when
He does not know either of us?
When I tried to mix the vibhuti in water to give it to my son, it was like bits.
I mixed it in water by crushing the bits into powder with my fingers. Though my
son's diabetes has not been cured completely, it has remained under control, thanks
to Swami's grace.'
