Mrs. G. Vijayalakshmi (42), a housewife, relates her experiences of the Divinity of Bhagavan in her own words.

'My father, Mr. Turlapati Hanumanta Rao has been a devotee of Shirdi Sai since forties. My mother, Mrs. Saraswati has been a devotee of Sri Sathya Sai since sixties. After my marriage, the mother of my father-in-law wanted us to take her to Puttaparthi at an advanced age of 80. So, we all went to Puttaparthi with her in 1985. That was my first visit to Parthi.

In 1996, my son Karthik underwent a major operation for some intestinal disorder and was kept in the ICU for post-operative care. When we went in to see him, we found that many beds full of patients surrounded his bed, and some of them seemed to be there with infectious diseases. Doctors were warning us that my son should be protected from infections, but they themselves placed his bed amidst infectious environment. My mother and I were very much worried. We both sat outside praying to Baba. I then had a feeling that a chakram (wheel) of aura was moving atop his bed as if it was protecting him. My son recovered soon, and was discharged in a few days.

In 1997, we went by train from Hyderabad to Bhopal. From there, we hired a taxi to go to Indore where my elder brother, Mr. T.V. Sambasiva Rao is working. When we were about an hour's run from Indore, the traffic came to a halt at Sonaputch. There is a low level causeway over which the floodwater was flowing. Until it receded, all vehicles had to stop. There was a small dhaba (hotel) there. We went and asked the dhaba-keeper, 'how long it (for the floodwater to recede) would take normally?' 'May be a day or two, if you are lucky', he said, 'there were times when the stream had not receded for about 10 days'.

It was 11 o' clock in the night. We saw a telephone booth and informed the position to my brother. 'Yes, it is like that', he told us, 'you wait till morning. Don't go back to Bhopal in the night'. So we came back to our taxi and began praying to Bhagavan frantically. To our surprise, the stream receded in five minutes, and the traffic began to move. We reached Indore without any trouble, owing to the grace of Bhagavan.'
