Mr. T.Umamaheswara Rao (49), a devotee of Bhagavan, relates his experiences of the Divinity of Bhagavan in his own words.

'I had fever in June 2002. I took it at first casually. But it was not responding to treatment. So I was taken to the Christian Mission Hospital, Vellore for further investigation. I was in the Hospital for about 15 days. They tried to do scanning, but the scanning machine failed. They wanted to take MRI, but as I developed shivering in the AC room where the equipment to do MRI was installed, they could not get the pictures. So, based on the available information, the Doctors concluded that I was suffering from damage to spleen and decided to perform spleenectomy (removal of spleen). They told me to be prepared to undergo surgery on the following Monday. They told me this on Saturday.

At Hyderabad, many Sai devotees had gathered at my house a day before this happened, that is, on Friday. They did Bhajan reciting Sai Gayatri for my health, the whole day and night. During Bhajan, a Rudrakshamala materialized. One of the devotees, who is reputed to speak to Bhagavan on the astral plane, told our children at Hyderabad that there was no need to worry, and that I would be alright. Our children informed us of all these developments forthwith.

The Doctors informed us on Saturday about surgery at 11:30 a.m. on Monday. But they came running to us again at 3 p.m. the same day to inform us that surgery was not needed. While they were examining video pictures of samples of my biopsy on computer, they noticed T.B. cells. They did not notice them earlier. Therefore, they realized that their diagnosis about damaged spleen was wrong. In fact, my ailment, they now concluded, was bone T.B, and prescribed medicines.

Had they not noticed T.B. cells, I would have undergone surgery losing my spleen permanently for no fault of mine. Besides, my real ailment would have been left to thrive. The detection of T.B. cells in time was owing to the grace of Bhagavan.

I was treated as inpatient for 15 days, and was discharged temporarily to return to the Hospital after 15 days. I was put up in attendant quarters. There I developed throat infection. It was so severe that my throat was completely blocked due to inflammation. I could not swallow even a spoonful of water let alone any food items. So I was taken to the Hospital for readmission as an inpatient.

When we reached the Hospital there was heavy rush. I was not in a position to wait for long. My wife went to a Doctor there and tried to broach my case. He was not known to us. But the moment my wife mentioned my name, he remarked, 'oh! Umamaheswara Rao', as if he had known me, and took me personally through various stages of admission process circumventing queues, and got me admission. Even now it is a mystery to us why he took so much interest in my case as if some one had recommended. Who would have told him about me? Who but Bhagavan?

The Doctor on duty was of the opinion that I was not making sincere effort to swallow water or milk. He tried to persuade me to drink some thing. However much I tried, I could not swallow as my throat was blocked completely. The Doctor was so vexed and exasperated that he left in an angry mood. Till midnight my position continued to be the same. I applied some vibhuti and began praying to Bhagavan. I gradually fell into good sleep. I awoke around 5 a.m. I felt thirsty and asked my wife for water. She gave me, but was apprehensive if I could swallow at all. To her surprise, I drank it without difficulty. Later, I took some milk also for the first time in more than 36 hours. I even ate some biscuits. My throat constriction disappeared with vibhuti miraculously. My health improved gradually, and I returned to Hyderabad.

I was indisposed again in January 2003. I was vomiting frequently. Then a devotee to whom Swami appears on the astral plane advised me to go to Prasanthi Nilayam. At that time, I was so weak that I could not move even. How can I travel up to Prasanthi Nilayam? I was keen to follow Swami's instruction. I do not know how I did walk long distances at the Kacheguda Railway Station. I do not know how I did negotiate the steps to reach the platform No.3 and board the train. It was all Swami's grace.

My health began to improve noticeably after the very first Darshan of Swami. My appetite improved markedly. At the Darshan, a person had fits and fell on me. His head was rubbing against my back violently. It was exactly the spot where they did the biopsy. I felt severe pain as he was hysterically rubbing his head on my back. Later, my condition began to improve perceptibly. Was the convulsive rubbing of the patient of epilepsy against my back a part of Swami's Therapy? Who knows?

My white blood corpuscles count was earlier falling below normal often causing anxiety. After stay at Prasanthi Nilayam it came to normal level. This was confirmed by tests at Vellore Hospital later. By Bhagavan's grace, I am quite hale and healthy now.'
