Mr. S.Venkataraman (59) opted for voluntary retirement from the State Bank of India and joined for seva in Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Seva organization at Sai Gokulam, Brindavan. He has several experiences of the Divinity of Bhagavan of which he narrates a few in his own words.

'It was in 1978. I read an article on Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and His miracles in a Tamil journal. It had a profound impact on me. Since then, I have developed total faith in Bhagavan whom I regard as God in human body. I have been experiencing His Divinity ever since.

In 1978, I wanted to dispose of some of our lands. But it was not easy to find a buyer who was ready to pay suitable price. I prayed to Bhagavan on June 15, 1978. To my surprise, I received telegraphic information from my Father-in-law on June 18 about some one coming forward to buy those lands paying a reasonable price. Immediately I went to my native place and disposed of the lands.

In 1982, I received orders of transfer. I felt it inconvenient and even troublesome. I prayed to Bhagavan after I completed recital of Vishnu Sahasra Namam. The very next day I received orders of cancellation of my transfer, to my relief.

In 1988, I had an attack of jaundice. As there was no Allopathic cure for it, I wanted to try healing through mantras. We learnt that there was a retired Headmaster at Mayiladuthurai who could heal that way. But it is far away from Chennai. However, we decided to go there. I prayed to Bhagavan (for permission) about receiving the healing by mantras. The very next day we received information that the very same person was coming to Chennai, and would be put up at Aruna Nagar. We went there and received the healing through mantras from him. Thus, owing to Bhagavan's grae, I could get the healing through mantras without having to travel over a long distance. That retired Headmaster was doing it as a service and, therefore, did not take any money from us. I got cured completely without any financial commitment and without taking any medicine.

In 1992, I was about to commit a very serious mistake in my official work, which involved Rs. 40,000. Had I done so, I would have been required to pay that amount from my pocket and would have got a black mark also. But I was not aware that I was about to commit such a serious blunder. While I was in office, a tall person wearing gray safari suit and spectacles came to me. 'Go through the documents again', he warned, 'you will find a costly mistake.' He even quoted the page and paragraph number where the mistake occurred.

'In what way you are concerned with it?' I asked.

'I have no connection', he admitted, 'I am only interested in you!'

I referred to the documents. Exactly at the page and the paragraph mentioned by him, there it was - a costly blunder!

'Thank you very much'. I said while lifting up my face. But he was gone. I tried to find him. I have not seen him again.

Bhagavan appointed my son who was a student of Swami's college as a systems analyst at Sri Sathya Sai Super Specialities Hospital, Whitefields, Bangalore at the time of its inauguration in January 2001. Later Swami called all of us for a group interview on January 21, 2001.

'Swami', I asked Bhagavan at the interview, 'I want to go over here and do seva'.

Swami said, 'ok!' and blessed me.

I applied for voluntary retirement and left service to take up seva at Swami's Sai Gokulam, Brindavan, Bangalore. Bhagavan's consent to my request for service is a true turning pint in my life towards total spiritual pursuits.'
