Mr. K. Lakshmi Reddy (75), an agriculturist,
relates a few of his experiences of the Divinity of Bhagavan in his own words.
'In my childhood we used to go with Swami to Kalpavriksham. I saw Him pluck mango
fruit from the tamarind tree. I, too, tasted it. He used to materialize vibhuti
and sweets for us. This was long before He declared that He is Sai Baba.
Once, our village had a peculiar problem. Those who walked near a certain place
were getting bad times. Some even died. So our villagers went to Swami. By that
time He declared that He is Sai Baba. He came to our village. He got a pit dug at
one place. We were all there curious to see what He would do. Suddenly there was
fine fragrance. Then a pir appeared. Swami personally took it out. After that no
untoward incidents happened in our village.
I used to work as a volunteer during Dasara festival.
Swami once sent me to an official in the Indian Telephone Industries, Bangalore.
That official gave me employment as a clerk. But, I did not like to stay there.
I wrote a letter to Swami, resigned the job and came to my place. I have since taken
up agriculture. Luckily for us, we have got good rates for our lands owing to real
estate deals. We are comfortable now. Whatever development has come about in our
village and in neighbouring villages, it is only owing to Swami.
Whenever Swami came close to me in darshan, He used to talk to me. He used to enquire
after my welfare. Once He gave me Rs. 10,000 and asked me to build a school in our
village. We did so meeting the extra expenses collectively.
In my childhood, I used to hear from elders that Swami was actually born in our
village. Our village was the place of the mother of Eswaramma. So Eswaramma was
brought to our place by her mother for delivery and Sri Sathya Narayana Raju (Swami)
was born here. But I had no confirmation for this.'
