Mr. Jatindar Shad, a devotee of Bhagavan, records a few of his experiences of the Divinity of Bhagavan in his own words in his mail to saidevotees_worldnet@yahoogroups.com dated October 30, 2006.

'Many years ago, while at Prasanthi Nilayam, Swami was giving a discourse. He was telling us about a group of devotees from an eastern country arriving at Bangalore from their country; and from Bangalore they walked to Prasanthi Nilayam; and their baggage was also lugged in a four wheel cart. Swami said 'they put their baggage in a hand cart with four wheels and commenced walking chanting the first of my 108 names. Till they reached Prasanthi Nilayam, they kept up continuous chanting Om Sri Sathya Sai Babaya Namah'. He repeated this line three or four times with such a force that I felt like He was giving this namasmaran mantra to me, personally.

Om Sri Sathya Sai Babaya Namah is my mantra which I try my utmost to repeat at all times. In the night when I go to sleep, my last duty is to have a chat with Baba and give Him all the report of the day - what all tasks He gave us and other important details. As this dialogue closes, I start chanting Om Sri Sathya Sai Babaya. Namah. The result of this is that many times I have woken up chanting this mantra. At times, I awake in the middle of the night, and this mantra rolls on the tongue.

Mrs. Shad has a problem with cramps in her legs, and often gets up in the night to tie up the leg troubling her. I always tell her 'ask for Baba's help', which she does, but still she has the trouble.

A few weeks ago, on two consecutive days, I got cramps in my left leg - the one that faced two major accidents. The cramps were strong enough to wake me up. When I told Mrs Shad in the morning, she asked me if I had called upon Baba for help. I do not recall any prayer to Baba for help.

Two, three weeks back, around 3.30 - 4 a.m., I felt a cramp coming up in my left leg. From the ankle, it came up and gripped the muscle below the back of the knee. I do recall having said 'Swami, what is this?' and loudly chanted Om Sri Sathya Sai Babaya Namah. On the very first uttering, I could see the arrow of this mantra fully pushing the cramp off the leg. The relief was instant.

I had wanted to share this incident with you all. But, I felt it was too minor. When today, in the afternoon, I felt the cramp generate in the tendon behind the ankle and go to the arc of the foot, I just said 'Swami', and chanted Om Sri Sathya Sai Babaya Namah, and the pain vanished.'
