Mr. J. Srinivara Rao (34), a High School Teacher, relates his experiences of the
Divinity of Bhagavan in his own words.
‘I used to attend Sai Bhajans since 1997. In 2000, I had a dream. At that time,
I was working as a teacher in a private school. In the dream I saw Baba coming in
a palanquin. I was carrying it on one side and my student, Mr. Appayya Naidu of
10th class, whose face I could see vividly in the dream, was carrying the palanquin
on the other side. Suddenly I slipped, and the palanquin log also slipped from my
shoulder. I shuddered in fear thinking that Swami might have fallen and cried ‘Swami!’
Then I saw Swami up above the houses smiling. ‘Nothing happened to me’, Swami told
me, ‘don’t worry that you dropped the palanquin. I am all right. I am with you’.
In 2002, I had another dream. I went to my grand parents’ house in a village. My
maternal uncle was on a bed near the cattle shed in their house. The house has a
garden around. Suddenly a lion came out of nowhere and began to charge at the son
of my maternal uncle and me. The son of my maternal uncle ran into the house without
bothering about his father lying on a cot near the cattle shed. I ran to my uncle
and tried to carry him into the house. He awoke and ran into the house while the
lion caught hold of me. I cried loudly ‘Swami!’ Instantly Swami came there and told
me, ‘that lion won’t harm you, don’t worry. I am with you’.
I passed B.A., B.Ed., but could not pass the D.S.C. to be appointed as a teacher
in a Z.P. High School. As Swami assured me twice in my dreams that He is with me,
I thought I would pass definitely. That year, I went to Puttaparthi for Sivarathri.
I was lucky to get third line and could witness emergence of lingam from the mouth
of Swami from close quarters. On that day, Swami, in the course of His Divine Discourse,
said, ‘all those who could come here today and witness the lingam are very fortunate’.
I strongly believed Bhagavan’s words. Till then I was thinking that I was unlucky
as I had failed in the D.S.C. examination.
Later, I made another attempt. On the day of examination, I went to the exam centre
with full confidence. I went searching one room after the other for my seat. Finally,
I located the room in which my number was given. As I was entering the room, I was
overwhelmed with joy because I found the photograph of Bhagavan raising both His
hands in Abhayamudra, just above the blackboard on the wall, as if assuring me that
He was with me. Not only that, as I was looking at the photograph reverentially,
I heard Swami’s voice, ‘go and write. You are sure to pass’.
I wrote the exam well. Next day was a Thursday. I went to bhajan. After bhajan,
I was asked to speak. I said, ‘Swami is with me. I wrote the D.S.C. exam yesterday.
I declare now itself that I passed it owing to His grace’. Everyone wondered how
I could tell that before results came. When results came, I passed. I was appointed
as a High School teacher. Owing to Swami’s grace, I know now for sure that He is
always with me.’
