Mr. J.P.Singh (69), a retiree from the Indian Navy, narrates a couple of his experiences of the Divinity of Bhagavan in his own words.

'I have been a devotee of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba since 1980-81. I heard of Baba from a friend while I was working at Goa. There I attended a Sai Bhajan for the first time.

My first visit to Puttaparthi was in 1982-83. During Darshan, it was my good fortune that Bhagavan came along and stood before me for a few minutes when I could take Padanamaskar.

On April 13, 1992, my daughter Ms. Kiran Singh, a student of 11th Class (CBSE), was going to school on a cycle when a truck dashed against her. One of the tyres of the truck went over her right leg crushing it into pulp. It was Swami's grace that she had not lost her consciousness despite loss of blood. She wrote a chit with our address and managed to send it to my house with a passer by. I was not at home but my wife ran to her. Meanwhile an Air force official who was passing that way saw her. As she was in the Central School uniform, he thought that she was the child of some Air force employee.

He got an ambulance and arranged to shift her to an Air Force Hospital. Though the heavy truck went over her leg, there was no fracture! Doctors wondered how it could be so.

While she was recovering in the Hospital, she developed allergy for some medicine that was given her there. I used to sing Sai Bhajans for her while she was listening. She never complained of pain. Her face was serene and peaceful. On April 30, 1992, she listened to Sai Bhajans for a long time. It was a Thursday. After I completed Bhajan songs and wanted to go home leaving behind my wife, my daughter said, 'I want to go to sleep'. She slept peacefully and, in the sleep, she passed away peacefully, and merged in Bhagavan blissfully.

I recall in this connection that my Father had passed away at 75 peacefully on a Thursday in sleep. My Mother had passed away at 85 in the same manner, also on a Thursday.

My wife was going to a Temple one morning on a two-wheeler. There was fog. At a turning, she suddenly encountered some one. While trying to avoid him, she applied sudden brake, and fell down making three somersaults. She was afraid that she must have sustained fractures in her leg and hand. She was pleading for help, but those who were around were busy in their own way. Then a stranger came, called a rickshaw and brought her to my house safely. He said that he was a resident of Mangala Vihar, Phase - II. On examination by Doctors, it was found that she did not have any fractures. She suffered only some congestion in chest. She could go back to her office later. Even though she made 3 somersaults, she suffered no injury due to Swami's grace.'
